From a Wild Life to Wildlife – Michael Oberman Talk and Mini-Gallery

Join us at Howard County Conservancy on April 21st for a fascinating night of rock ‘n roll and wildlife photography!

At 6pm, Michael Oberman will share several stories from his book Fast Forward, Play and Rewind. He has interviewed more than three hundred top musical artists including The Doors, James Brown, the Grateful Dead, the Sir Douglas Quintet, and David Bowie. Oberman will share dozens of true tales about all different types of rock legends from his past. Then the topic will transition to his present love and dedication to wildlife photography. Learn about the stories behind his awe-inspiring pictures. Oberman’s nature and wildlife photography has been recognized in several museum galleries and worldwide publications!

At 7pm, we will host a mini gallery of Michael Oberman’s photography. Several pieces will be on display for viewing and purchase. From the smallest dragonfly to the largest eagle, Michael has photographed all types of wildlife in their natural habitats. His photos show the beauty of nature that he captures through his lens every day.

Michael Oberman – From 1967 to 1973, Michael Oberman interviewed more than three hundred top musical artists. Collected together for the first time, his book Fast Forward, Play and Rewind presents more than one hundred interviews Oberman conducted with the most important musical artists of the day. When Michael reached the age of 50, he left the wild life of rock-and-roll and entered the world of wildlife photography. Michael’s nature and wildlife photographs are on permanent display in U.S. National Parks including Steigerwald and Modoc and in museums including the Utah Museum of Natural History and the Ontario Science Centre. His work has been featured in publications like Parade Magazine, The London Daily Mirror, The Baltimore Sun and more! Michael lives in Columbia Maryland where several times a year he teaches Nature Photography.

All other program fees are non-refundable and support educational programs at the Conservancy. Organized groups may not be able to be accommodated at our free programs.
