Monarch butterflies are much beloved by the public because they are common, beautiful and have a fascinating and unique migratory life cycle. Every year, migratory monarchs from the eastern United States migrate down to a small set of mountains in central Mexico. The Art of Stewardship (TAOS) Art Show: Inspirations from Nature is presented by the Howard County Conservancy in partnership with the nationwide Art of Stewardship Project. The TAOS show is a forum for artists to promote stewardship of the Earth. All artwork in the show is donated and will be available for $100 each. The Conservancy’s Mt Pleasant property borders Patapsco State Park. Join Woody Merkle, Dave Lyons, John Cookson and other Conservancy naturalists on a 2-hour, approximately 3-mile round trip hike across meadows, tree lines and paths through the woods. Online registration ends 24 hours prior to the event. If a program is canceled by the Conservancy, participants will be notified and offered a refund. All other program fees are non-refundable and support educational programs at the Conservancy. Organized groups may not be able to be accommodated at our free programs. Please contact the Conservancy about scheduling a separate program for your group.
