Green STEM Camp
June 19 – June 23
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Put on your lab coat and start your summer by studying the natural world! Conduct experiments, participate in STEM challenges and uncover scientific mysteries of nature. Investigate the Conservancy’s various ecosystems and learn how organisms adapt to their environments.

Backyard Birds
June 26 – June 30
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Take to the skies and explore the fascinating world that lies above us! Become familiar with bird species you may find in your own backyard, and learn birding tips from experts to help identify birds by sight and sound. Campers will meet our barred and screech owls and celebrate the amazing feat of flight with themed games, crafts, and activities.

Plant Power (no camp July 4th)
July 3, 5-7
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Did you know that trees can communicate with each other? Uncover these mysteries of the forest while working on your plant identification skills. Observe how plants and trees change throughout the seasons, and take home native plant seeds to help grow a new generation of natives in your community! (4 day camp $280*)

Wonders of Water
July 10 – July 14
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Dive beneath the water’s surface to uncover what adventures lie ahead. Frogs, tadpoles, fish and macroinvertebrates all call our streams home. Discover these organisms and more in the Conservancy’s aquatic habitats! Conduct scientific research to find out if your stream is healthy by identifying the species that live there. We will explore wetlands, paint with watercolors, and play water games!

Rad Reptiles
July 17 – July 21
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
From turtles and snakes to lizards and skinks, Maryland is home to a variety of reptiles. Learn the differences between these unusual species, and join us as we explore bogs, streams, meadows, and woodlands in search of these wonderful, but hard to find, creatures. Meet the Conservancy’s animal ambassadors for an up close encounter!

Adventure Skills
July 24 – July 28
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Join us for a week that is all about Adventures in Nature! Learn how to use a compass, read a trail map, build a shelter and more! Master tying knots, preparing a fire circle, and using navigational tools. We will practice tracking animals and identify plants that could help you survive in the wilderness.

Talons and Teeth
July 31 – August 4
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Discover the fastest, strongest, and smartest animals around while learning how to track animals in the wild. Campers will uncover how these creatures find and hunt their prey and the important role predators play in the food chain. Join challenges to build the best habitat, navigate through camp, and have a wildly good time!

Incredible Insects
August 7 – August 11

Ages 5 -12
Discover the hidden world of insects! Search under rocks and logs for beetles, worms, and other bugs. Learn about the important role of pollinating insects such as bees and butterflies, and join us in bug themed crafts, games, and more!

Backwoods Trekkers
August 14 – August 18

Ages 5 -12
Are you ready to have an Adventure in Nature? We will explore our woodlands, meadows and streams in search of unique plants, animals and insects. Check out how all these plants and animals are connected to each other and to us through experiments, games, and scientific observations!

Climate Camp
August 14 – August 18
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 9 -12
Our NEW climate camp will give campers the opportunity to participate in a special week of programming focusing on climate science and positive solutions, with a focus on hands-on STEM focused activities.

Habitat Hikers
August 21 – August 25
9 AM – 3:30 PM
Ages 5 -12
Hit the trails to walk where few have gone before. Locate deer trails, find woodpecker holes, roll logs and search for salamanders. This camp will focus on exploring all of the different habitats and ecosystems on our grounds! Help us close out a fantastic summer in the The Great Outdoors!
