Fantastic Vultures

Turkey vultures and black vultures – oh MY! We see these big black birds soaring in the sky’s updrafts. We see them perched on telephone poles and treetops and sometimes on rooftops. Do they look menacing to you? What do you know about these very amazing creatures and their very important niche in the environment? An expert naturalist from Soldiers Delight’s aviary, Allie Bays, will bring a rehabilitated vulture and describe vultures’ behaviors, their specialized sensory organs, personality, physical features, eating habits, habitat and natural history. There will also share stories about why the vultures at Soldiers Delight are in human care and how they act towards humans. OCT 27- Thursday 7-8pm $5/person; $10/family
Online registration ends 24 hours prior to the event. If a program is canceled by the Conservancy, participants will be notified and offered a refund. All other program fees are non-refundable and support educational programs at the Conservancy. Organized groups may not be able to be accommodated at our free programs. Please contact the Conservancy about scheduling a separate program for your group.
