Day Tripping: 50 Natural Places and Gardens to Visit

April 6, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Fantastic resources for your stay-cations and day-trips to outdoor places within easy driving distance of Howard County!  Linda Decker and Sherry Conklin, lifelong nature-lovers and Master Gardeners, will share their favorites – formal display gardens, arboretums, wild native places to walk and hike, and historic landscapes.  You’ll take home great ideas for over 50 beautiful and interesting places to visit – in all seasons of the year!

Presenter bios

Sherry Conklin, a retired Howard County high school English teacher, combines a love of literature with a love of gardens.  She attended yearly seminars at Winterthur gardens where trips to neighboring DuPont gardens became a passion. Currently she is a docent at Beatrix Farrand’s Garland Farm in Bar Harbor, Maine. Linda Decker, a graduate engineer, worked in the telecommunications field.  She attributes her love of gardens to summers spent with her grandmother poking in the dirt coaxing things to grow. Sherry and Linda are dynamic Master Gardeners. They enjoy visiting gardens and sharing their insights and experiences. From wild native spaces to formal gardens, they will cover the spectrum.

Free program, rain or shine.
