Through our partnership with the Howard County Public School System, we launched a new climate change curriculum for sixth graders. In the last week of October alone, over 500 students learned about the impacts of climate change and how to take positive action to avoid and solve its negative effects. Environmental justice is highlighted to show how and why some communities bear a greater brunt from severe weather, how tree canopies help mitigate flooding, and the impacts of different land surfaces and urban heat islands. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
